Year One - The Discipleship Journey

Jesus called a few friends to His side and took them on a journey of discovery.  It was in the laughter and living, the walking and talking that they learned how to follow the Master.  He imparted the values of His Father's kingdom and helped them imagine a bright future. Jesus is still calling friends to His side, inviting them on a journey of self-discovery by losing their lives into His, and there, discovering the beauty of being loved as a child, blessed as an heir, transformed as a disciple, and commissioned as an ambassador.

The Discipleship Journey is a 10 month participation in a community where the rhythms of a disciplined lifestyle are celebrated.  The intentional practices of prayer, hospitality, learning, mission, justice, and creativity are experienced in a calendar of weekly, monthly, and seasonal commitments.

We invite you into a grace-filled season of re-ordering your heart and restoring your soul in the perfect love of God shared with us in Jesus Christ.  He is the focus of our life conversation as we orbit around the spectral diversity of his glory.  It is in our beholding of Him that we are changed in heart and satisfied in soul.

Year Two - The God Story

From Genesis to Revelation, the Scriptures tell the story of the Father's dream to have us as His children and to prepare a Bride for his Son.  With self-revelatory drama, the Father, Son and Spirit weave themselves into the fabric of the created world and share with us their extravagant love.  This story is meant to be participated in as we awaken our sanctified imaginations to experience the joy and sorrow, the adventure and pain of the protagonist Author who has written Himself into the script.  This is His Story, the God Story.  The Theodramatic underscore of the plot, character development, setting and sequence of events are played on the stage of Adam, earthing the universal themes of love and loyalty, grace and mercy, justice and judgment, dignity and depravity.

The renewing of our mind is our privilege as we welcome the revisioning of our imaginations to recover a sanctuary in the theatre of our thoughts.  We are not inviting you to a systematic study, a dissection of the doctrines and dogma of the Church.  Information about God has no power to transform us.  An encounter with God the Father, revealed in His Son Jesus, imparted by the Spirit reorders our vision of ourselves and our world and gives us back the dignity of our humanity.

The God Story is a 9 month journey into the heart and mind of our Maker, where we discover the Trinity's lovely designs for humanity.  Our conversation lives in the narrative of the Scripture, where we learn to interpret the intentions of God as participants in the Theodrama.  Come hold in your hot little hands the weight and density of the glory of God as we open the Book together.

Year Three - The Blueprint

The Master Architect has designs for the human family, for you, for me.  Those designs have their origin in the counsel of the Father, Son and Spirit from before the foundation of the world.  That mystery has unfolded to us in the specific revelation of Jesus Christ's incarnation, life, death, resurrection and ascension.  He is the blueprint for understanding the beautiful designs of God.  We walked together on the Discipleship Journey, shared the wonder in the God Story, and now we unfurl the Blueprint.

This is the big bonanza, the year you get the deepest and richest vein of your teacher's and mentor's life knowledge in one big download.  Well, maybe it's more like a big conversation about Church History, Theology, Missiology, Ecclesiology, and Sociology.  Throw in a healthy dose of life coaching, leadership and ministry development, and how to bring transformation to our world and you can see why the name really fits.

Be ready to explore how we recover our original blueprint, the image of God, and share that dignity with our world.  Conversational lectures help us harness the wisdom of the ages and receive the practical guidance of elders.  The context of a clarified community and the creation of a person-oriented project will enhance your learning experience as you grow in your capacity to love and serve our neighbors.

Our year ends with a presentation from you about your project and hopeful forecast of your near future.  We listen and reflect back how we see the shape of God's grace being formed in you and commission you to whatever dreamy thing is next, be it simple and common, or sacrificial and complex, all worthy of celebrating as you exit the Training Community, and enter the joyful wonder of your next season of life.
