Philosophy

An awakening... Mad City Church lives and operates under the conviction that God is moving in the earth in our time to awaken the Bride to extravagant love for Christ.  We are convinced that this awakening is inclusive of the many artistic giftings that God has given, and that these giftings will be revolutionized and redeemed in each of our walks with God.

A movement... God is raising up and releasing a new artistic boldness within His Body all over the world that is serving powerfully to edify the Church and engage the greater arts community at all levels, including a professional level.  The Holy Spirit has already begun to draw artists to Mad City Church, and we believe He will continue to do so.

A dream... In the physical realm a greenhouse is defined as 'a building in which tender plants are cultivated.'  Our dream is that God will allow us to take part in what He is doing by creating a 'spiritual greenhouse' where artists will be embraced, cultivated and raised up to display the beauty of Christ all over the world.

A family... We feel that the healthiest outworking of this is within the context of a church family - a local body.  In light of this, The Greenhouse will operate within and under the covering and authority of Mad City Church.

How do we plan to do all this?

Most of the encouragement, challenging and equipping will be accomplished through one on one relationship and mentoring as we endeavor to come alongside each artist in whatever way we can to help them find their way into God's plan for their lives.  We will also have monthly large group family celebrations and periodically offer classes and skill development opportunities covering as many spheres of interest as we have resources for.  We will strive always to keep God's plans and desires at the center of our efforts, and we will endeavor to be aggressive and fresh in our pursuit of creativity and communication in everything we do.
